WARDROBE STUDY
In-home styling with the clothes you already own.
For anyone who opens a full closet and sees nothing to wear. For bodies, schedules, and lives that have changed since those clothes were bought. For people who want to feel like themselves again, without starting over.
A Wardrobe Study is a three-hour session in your home with Kelly Funabashi, a former senior denim designer. The goal is simple: find the outfits already hiding in your closet.
/How it works
01|The questionnaire
Before the session, you'll answer a questionnaire about your week, what's not working, and how you want to feel. Plus a few fun ones. If your style were a song, what would it be?
04|The remix
New outfits built from what you already own, for the life you actually live: school drop-off, work, dinner out, and everything in between.
02|The pull
Everything comes out. Favorites, maybes, and the things you haven't touched in years. Nothing gets judged, and nothing gets tossed without a conversation.
05|Field Notes
Each outfit is photographed on an instant camera and added to an album with notes on how to wear it. You keep the album, so the outfits don't disappear when the session ends.
03|The try-on
This is where fit comes in. The right tuck, cuff, or proportion can make an old piece feel new. Fifteen years of fitting women's denim means spotting these fast.
06|The gap list
A short, handwritten list of three to five pieces that would unlock the most new outfits. No pressure, no shopping spree.

/How to prepare
Don't purge before the session.
The pieces you're unsure about are often the most fun to remix. Put "maybes" in one pile instead of tossing them.
Do laundry the day before,
so everything you own is available.
Pull out shoes, bags, belts, and jewelry.
Accessories are half of every outfit.
Optional reading:
Marie Kondo's The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, for the mindset of keeping what you love. Save the actual clearing out for after the session.
Save 5 to 10 images of outfits you love
to your phone. Screenshots, old photos of yourself, anything.
Wear simple fitted basics,
like a tank and leggings, so trying things on is quick.
/FAQs
Will I need to buy new clothes?
1
No. The session works with what you have. The gap list is there if you want it, not a requirement.
My closet is a mess. Is that okay?
2
Yes. That's usually the point.
Can my kids be home?
3
Of course. Just plan for some focused time for try-ons.
What if I don't like anything in my closet?
4
It happens more than you'd think, and it usually changes once pieces are paired differently.
